Hypnotherapy for Fears

Fears are like spider webs that keep you stuck in your past, in your triggers and flashbacks. See how hypnosis for fears can help you liberate your body and mind from anxiety and overwhelming thoughts.

Fear is a reality that hasn’t happened yet, created and directed by the mind through imagined outcomes. Fear can either block us or motivate us – the latter is the hardest to achieve.

Fears live in the subconscious mind and often don’t clearly tell us what they are trying to protect us from. To understand them, you need to access your subconscious and discover the answer for yourself.

Fear can be healthy or unhealthy. We need fear in extreme situations to protect our lives – for example, running from a tiger can save you. Panicking on a flight or on the road does not.

When we experience unhealthy fears, such as fear of rejection or fear of criticism, our initial response is the same as with healthy fear: run. However, running from fear often makes it chase us even faster. Fear has the ability to change its form – if you avoid flying, that fear may transform into another one, simply to remind you that it is still there.

But since you are the boss of your mind, you can decide whether you want to have unhealthy fears or not.

Here is a case study from my hypnotherapy service:

A woman in her late 50s comes to me with a fear of flying. She needs to travel frequently for work, but her fear is so intense that before every flight she numbs it with medication or large amounts of alcohol. She dislikes this coping strategy because it leaves her exhausted and drained after each flight, unable to focus during work meetings, and anxious about the return journey. Every trip becomes a major source of stress. Logically, she understands that flying is safe and that she will be okay. Yet every time the aircraft doors close, she feels out of control, panicky, and dizzy.
In hypnosis, we go on a journey through her life to discover how, when, and why her fear of flying began. The first scene takes us back to when she was eight years old and her beloved grandmother passed away. Her family traveled overseas for the funeral. During the nine-hour flight, her mother cried uncontrollably, and her father drank heavily to cope with the stress. She began to associate flying with suffering and helplessness. She desperately wanted to help her mother feel better but couldn’t. At that moment, she formed the belief that flying was something negative.
The second scene takes us to the time when her father died. She was 19 years old and about to start college. Just two weeks after his passing, she flew to the United States for a semester abroad. Once again, her mind associated flying with grief, pain, and loss. It was around this time that she began experiencing panic attacks on flights.
During the reframe portion of the session, we revisited these memories and explored how they had influenced her life. She gained the understanding that losing family members had nothing to do with flying and that loss is a natural part of life.
The true breakthrough came when she realized that both her grandmother and her father had never lived the lives they truly wanted. They were often unhappy and dissatisfied. She recognized that she had been carrying those same feelings of uncertainty and a lack of fulfillment. This awareness helped her understand why she was so afraid of dying in an uncontrollable situation—because, in her own words, she “hadn’t even started to live.”
Fear of dying is very often connected to not following our heart and not living our passion. When my client made these connections, she was amazed by how powerful and intelligent her mind truly is—and how it can work against us or for us.
After listening to her personalized recording for 21 days, she traveled to Costa Rica the following month. I didn’t hear from her again until three months later, when she sent me this message:
I decided to stay here in Tamarindo. I received a job offer. The money isn’t the same, and I still need to figure things out in Canada, but I can’t tell you how happy I am. I needed this so much. I finally love my life—and flying. It’s overwhelming to experience all these changes, sometimes even scary, but so exciting. Thank you so much for that session. It changed my life.

Overcoming fears is not a magic or some “impossible mission”, it is real and can be done in 1 to 3 hypnotherapy treatment sessions . The secret to it is talking to your subconscious mind, as it is the one that holds all those fears in your body, creating panic attacks, anxiety and inability to cope with them. Even fears that were part of your life for 20, 30 or 50 years can be transformed and released from your past, present and future.
